Those who earn a living out of offshoring consume laptops, iphones, apparells, tourist packages, air travel and everything else that are U.S brands and seen as upmarket products and services, thus increasing the bottom line figures of u.s companies.
• ?Offshoring increases jobless rates in U.S: True in short run, but creates value in the long run; Compare it with advancement in technology. Advancement in cotton mills/ production put thousands of people out of work, advancement in telecom sector put thousands of telephone operators out of work, introduction of farm equipments like tractors, tillers, sprinklers etc put many more thousands of farm workers out of work. By going back to old technology can we put those jobs on market? yes! but at the end of the day it will not be good for economy. It will drive-up inflation and is self-defeating. If all those cost reduction techniques brought by technology has proved good for the u.s economy in the long run and created jobs, so will offshoring - a cost reduction technique brought by availability of skilled low cost labour / people will prove good for the u.s economy in the long run and create jobs too.
